Property and Cancellation Policies

The total amount of the reservation will be charged if cancelled within 2 days of arrival. In case of no-show, the full reservation will be charged.

Booking Terms

 

Bookings shall be made online through our website, in writing to torgakureyri@gmail.com.

Please include all the necessary details for us to ensure maximum efficiency. For group bookings, a status list must be sent 8 weeks before arrival and a confirmed name list must be sent 4 weeks before arrival.

 

Child policies

 

Children of all ages are welcome. Cribs and extra beds aren't available at this property.

Age restriction

​

The minimum age for check-in is 18. Terms of Payment Individual Policy (1 - 7 people): Torg Guest House will issue an invoice for the full amount on the date of arrival.

 

Group Policy (8 people or more): we reserve the right to charge a 30% deposit at the time of booking to confirm the reservation. Full payment must be paid at least 4 weeks before arrival, or upon confirmation if booked within 4 weeks of arrival. If the payment is delayed, Torg Guest House reserves the right to cancel the booking and withdraw its confirmation of services.

 

Cancellations

 

Cancellations must be sent in writing to Torg Guest House and are only valid if confirmed in writing by Torg Guest House. By standard practices of the Icelandic travel industry, the following cancellation fees apply Notice of cancellation – Individuals (1 – 7 people): Less than 48 hours before arrival or no-show: 100% of the value of your reservation will be charged. Notice of cancellation – Groups (8 or More): Less than four weeks before arrival 100% will be charged in case of cancellation, but a new reservation can be made for the same value within a year from the original reservation.

Limitations of Liability

Torg Guest House, along with its staff and management, cannot be held accountable in cases where hostel bookings are unable to be fulfilled due to unforeseen circumstances, even with diligent care taken to prevent them. Such occurrences may include but are not limited to, war, the threat of war, civil unrest or strife, labour disputes, natural disasters, fires, acts of nature, terrorist activities, transportation disruptions, closures of airports, ports, or ferries, quarantine measures, epidemics, adverse weather conditions, government interventions, or other events beyond our control.

We recommend guests consider obtaining travel insurance to help mitigate potential risks associated with unforeseen circumstances.

 

Other terms & and conditions

 

Torg Guest House reserves the right to modify its rates for economic purposes, such as currency fluctuations, inflation, or an increase in supplier costs. Any changes in rates will not retroactively affect bookings that have already been confirmed by Torg Guest House.

If Torg Guest House, under exceptional circumstances, is unable to provide the client with the agreed rooms on arrival, Torg Guest House shall locate another room of equal or superior quality at no extra charge. This shall be done only with the agreement of the client. If after the reservation, Torg Guest House is unable to provide the room booked, the property reserves the right to cancel the booking and withdraw its confirmation of services by informing the client as soon as possible. All parties agree that the venue and jurisdiction regarding any matter related to these terms and conditions shall be where Torg Guest House is located, and the laws of Iceland shall govern.

Please note The property is not responsible for lost belongings, and it is the guest’s responsibility to use the security provided. In extreme cases, the property reserves the right to ban guests without a refund if they cause disturbance to other guests resulting in complaints from more than one other guest, do not respect the terms stated in this form, or damage or disrespect the property.

Guests must in all cases respect the quiet time. The property reserves the right to charge additional fees for any damage found during the inspection after the check-out time. Extra fees will be applied if the returned room requires extraordinary cleaning and maintenance. Smoking and vaping are strictly forbidden in our premises and all use of illegal drugs according to Icelandic law. Breaking this rule may result in extra charges and/or a ban from the guesthouse without a refund.
